GUIDE
How to Send and Receive ECX
Learn how to receive ECX, send transactions, verify wallet addresses, use QR codes and track confirmations with the ECXIUM Web Wallet.
Network Notice
ECX Beta Testnet is currently active. Before sending or receiving, confirm that your wallet shows ECX Beta Testnet and Practice ECX. Beta transactions use practice ECX. Permanent ECX begins on ECX Mainnet.
Check the Active ECX Network First
Before sending or receiving ECX, confirm which ECX network is active in your wallet.
The ECX launch uses three stages. Alpha and Beta are testing networks with practice balances. Mainnet is the permanent ECX network.
Practice ECX
Practice ECX
Permanent ECX
Important: Alpha and Beta transactions use practice ECX and are not permanent Mainnet ECX transactions.
Learn more about ECX networksReceiving ECX
Every ECX wallet has a public receiving address that can be shared with someone sending you ECX.
Your public wallet address does not provide access to your private keys or Recovery Phrase. It can be copied or shared as a QR code.
Before sharing an address, confirm that both parties are using the intended ECX network.
Receive Safely
A correct address is not enough if the sender and recipient are using different networks. Verify the active ECX network before the transaction is sent.
How to Receive ECX
Check the active network
Confirm ECX Alpha Testnet, ECX Beta Testnet or ECX Mainnet.
Select Receive
Copy your ECX address or show the QR code
Share the address with the sender
Confirm that the sender is using the same intended ECX network.
Wait for confirmation
The transaction must be broadcast and confirmed on the active ECX network.
Sending ECX
To send ECX, you need the recipient's ECX wallet address and the amount you want to transfer.
Blockchain transactions are irreversible once confirmed, so verify the destination address, amount and active network before approving the transaction.
ECXIUM should show the network, recipient address, amount and applicable network fee in the final confirmation view.
Before You Confirm
Verify: Network -> Recipient Address -> Amount -> Fee. Never rely on the address alone.
How to Send ECX
Open your ECXIUM wallet
Verify the active ECX network
Select Send
Paste the address or scan the QR code
Enter the ECX amount
Review the transaction details
Check recipient address, active network, amount and network fee.
Confirm the transaction
Track it in wallet history
Watch the transaction until it is confirmed.
Sending ECX From an Imported Bitcoin Wallet
If your ECX is associated with an eligible Bitcoin wallet that you imported into ECXIUM, BTC and ECX originate from shared pre-fork history.
That shared history makes safe coin splitting and replay protection important before the two assets are managed independently.
ECXIUM automatically handles safe coin splitting and replay protection where required when an eligible Bitcoin wallet is imported. No manual split transaction is required in ECXIUM.
Split BTC and ECX Guide Import Wallet GuideProduct Message
Import your eligible Bitcoin wallet. ECXIUM handles the safe split automatically, allowing BTC and ECX to be managed independently.
Using QR Codes
QR codes reduce manual address-entry errors when sending and receiving ECX.
Receiving: display your ECX address as a QR code so the sender can scan it.
Sending: scan the recipient's QR code to populate the destination address.
A QR code improves address entry, but it does not replace the need to verify the active network, recipient and amount before confirming.
Transaction Fees
ECX transactions may include a network fee. The applicable fee should be shown before the transaction is confirmed.
Review the fee together with the recipient address, amount and network before approving the transaction.
This guide does not hard-code a fee amount because network conditions and wallet behavior may change.
- Check the active network.
- Review the recipient address.
- Confirm the amount.
- Review the network fee.
Transaction Status and Confirmations
After you confirm a send transaction, ECXIUM broadcasts it to the active ECX network. Confirmation time can vary with network conditions, and transaction history should remain available inside the wallet.
What If a Transaction Has Not Appeared Yet?
First verify that the sender used the correct recipient address and the intended ECX network.
Then check the transaction status in the sending wallet or available ECX network tools.
A transaction may remain pending while it waits for confirmation. During Alpha and Beta, remember that the transaction belongs to a practice network rather than permanent Mainnet.
Do Not Resend Immediately
Do not resend without first checking whether the original transaction was successfully broadcast.
Safety Tips Before Sending
Send and receive workflows should always be network-aware. A correct address alone does not guarantee a safe transaction.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I receive ECX from any wallet?
Yes, provided the sending wallet supports the same intended ECX network and uses a compatible ECX address.
Is my ECX wallet address private?
No. A public wallet address can be shared to receive funds. It does not reveal your Recovery Phrase or private key.
Can someone access my wallet using my public address?
No. A public address alone does not provide control of the wallet.
Can I cancel an ECX transaction after sending?
A confirmed blockchain transaction cannot be reversed. Always review the transaction before confirming.
Why has my ECX transaction not appeared yet?
Check that the correct address and ECX network were used, then review the transaction status. A broadcast transaction may still be waiting for confirmation.
Are Alpha and Beta transactions permanent?
No. Alpha and Beta use practice ECX for testing. Permanent ECX transactions begin on Mainnet.
Can I send Alpha ECX to Mainnet?
Alpha, Beta and Mainnet are distinct network stages. Users should always use addresses and wallet behavior appropriate to the active network and should not treat practice ECX as permanent Mainnet ECX.
Do I need to manually split BTC and ECX before sending ECX in ECXIUM?
No manual split is required with ECXIUM. For eligible imported Bitcoin wallets, ECXIUM automatically handles safe coin splitting and replay protection where required.
Does sending ECX move my BTC?
After BTC and ECX are safely separated, the assets can be managed independently on their respective networks.
Does scanning a QR code guarantee the transaction is safe?
No. QR scanning reduces typing errors, but you should still verify the recipient address, active network and amount.
Independent Project
ECXIUM is an independent wallet developed for the eCash (ECX) ecosystem. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or operated by the official eCash project.
