ECX uses Bitcoin blockchain snapshots at specific block heights during Alpha, Beta and Mainnet. Learn what each snapshot records, how Bitcoin balances relate to ECX allocation, and which stage establishes permanent ECX.
Alpha and Beta snapshots are tied to practice ECX. The Mainnet snapshot establishes permanent ECX.

Bitcoin Chain to ECX Snapshots
Each ECX launch stage references the Bitcoin blockchain at a specific block height. The snapshot records Bitcoin balances; it does not move or lock BTC.

What Is an ECX Snapshot Block?
A blockchain snapshot records the state of Bitcoin balances at a specific Bitcoin block height.
For ECX, snapshot blocks provide the reference used to determine the matching ECX balance associated with Bitcoin addresses at each launch stage.
The snapshot does not move BTC and does not modify the Bitcoin blockchain. It records the relevant Bitcoin state for the ECX network.
Key Point
A snapshot records Bitcoin balances at a specific block. Your BTC remains on Bitcoin.

Which Snapshot Determines Permanent ECX?
The Mainnet snapshot, targeted around Bitcoin block 973,728, establishes permanent ECX.
Alpha and Beta are earlier practice stages. Their ECX balances should not be presented as the user's permanent Mainnet allocation.
The official launch model uses a one-for-one relationship at Mainnet: 1 BTC = 1 permanent ECX according to the Bitcoin balance recorded by the applicable Mainnet snapshot.

Does Alpha Eligibility Guarantee Mainnet ECX?
No. A Bitcoin address can have a different balance at different snapshot blocks.
Being eligible for practice ECX during Alpha does not by itself guarantee that the same address will have the same balance at Beta or Mainnet.
The relevant Bitcoin balance must be evaluated at each applicable snapshot block.
Why It Matters
Users may receive, spend or move BTC between Alpha, Beta and Mainnet.
What If My BTC Balance Changes Between Snapshots?
Each snapshot represents Bitcoin balances at its own block height. A balance change between two snapshot blocks can therefore change the ECX amount associated with the later stage.
For example, an address may hold one balance at Alpha and a different balance at Mainnet. The Mainnet allocation should be explained using the Bitcoin balance recorded at the Mainnet snapshot, not by carrying forward an earlier Alpha balance.
Important
An Alpha or Beta balance is not automatically carried forward unchanged to Mainnet.
Snapshot Scenarios
These examples explain the concept. They are not a substitute for protocol rules or edge-case verification.
BTC stays at the same address
If a Bitcoin address holds the same BTC balance at Alpha, Beta and Mainnet, each stage can reflect that balance under its applicable snapshot rules. Alpha and Beta remain practice stages; Mainnet establishes the permanent ECX allocation.
BTC arrives after Alpha
BTC received after the Alpha snapshot was not part of that earlier snapshot. If it remains at the address at a later applicable snapshot, the later snapshot evaluates the address based on the Bitcoin state at that later block.
BTC leaves before Mainnet
An earlier Alpha or Beta practice balance should not be used to promise a permanent Mainnet balance. Mainnet eligibility and allocation depend on the Bitcoin state recorded at the Mainnet snapshot.
Do I Need to Keep BTC Until Mainnet?
If a user's goal is the permanent Mainnet ECX allocation, the relevant question is whether the Bitcoin address holds the applicable balance at the Mainnet snapshot.
This guide explains snapshot logic only. It does not provide investment or custody advice.
If BTC is held through an exchange or another custodial service rather than a self-custody address, ECX availability can depend on that provider's support.
Self-Custody Note
A snapshot can record blockchain balances, but a user who does not control the corresponding Bitcoin keys may depend on their custodian or exchange for access to ECX.
Does the Snapshot Move or Lock Bitcoin?
No. An ECX snapshot does not transfer, lock or convert BTC.
Bitcoin continues on the Bitcoin blockchain. ECX exists separately on the ECX network.
After a fork, shared pre-fork history can create replay considerations when corresponding assets are spent. ECXIUM automatically handles safe coin splitting and replay protection for eligible Bitcoin-wallet imports where required.
The snapshot records Bitcoin state. It does not change Bitcoin custody or spend Bitcoin.
How Is the 1 BTC = 1 ECX Allocation Calculated?
The ECX launch uses a one-for-one relationship between the relevant Bitcoin balance and ECX allocation. For permanent ECX, the ratio should be explained in connection with the Mainnet snapshot.
1 BTC recorded at the applicable Mainnet snapshot = 1 permanent ECX.The ratio describes allocation, not exchange.BTC remains BTC on the Bitcoin blockchain.Permanent ECX is tied to Mainnet.
How to Check a Bitcoin Address for ECX
Users can check a public Bitcoin address before importing wallet credentials.
The checker should require only a public Bitcoin address. Never enter a Recovery Phrase or WIF private key into an eligibility checker.
An ECX snapshot records Bitcoin balances at a specific Bitcoin block height for use by the corresponding ECX launch stage.
What is the ECX Alpha snapshot block?
The Alpha stage is associated with approximately Bitcoin block 963,648 and practice ECX.
What is the ECX Beta snapshot block?
The Beta stage is associated with approximately Bitcoin block 967,680 and practice ECX.
What is the ECX Mainnet snapshot block?
The Mainnet stage is associated with approximately Bitcoin block 973,728 and permanent ECX.
Which snapshot determines permanent ECX?
The Mainnet snapshot establishes permanent ECX.
Does Alpha eligibility guarantee Mainnet eligibility?
No. Bitcoin balances can change between snapshot blocks, so an earlier practice-stage balance should not be treated as a guaranteed Mainnet allocation.
What if I receive BTC after Alpha?
BTC received after the Alpha snapshot was not part of that earlier snapshot. A later applicable snapshot evaluates the Bitcoin state at its own block height.
What if I move BTC before Mainnet?
The Mainnet snapshot evaluates the Bitcoin state at the Mainnet block. An earlier Alpha or Beta practice balance may not remain the same.
Does the snapshot move my BTC?
No. BTC remains on the Bitcoin blockchain.
Is 1 BTC converted into 1 ECX?
No. The 1:1 figure describes allocation, not conversion. BTC remains BTC.
What if my BTC is on an exchange?
Access to ECX may depend on whether the exchange or custodian supports the ECX distribution because the user may not control the corresponding Bitcoin keys.
Can I check eligibility without importing my wallet?
Yes. Use a public Bitcoin address checker. Never provide a Recovery Phrase or private key to an eligibility checker.
