BITCOIN WALLET IMPORT
How to Import a Bitcoin Wallet for ECX
If you control an eligible Bitcoin wallet, you can import it into ECXIUM using a compatible Recovery Phrase or WIF private key to access the corresponding eCash (ECX).
ECXIUM automatically handles safe coin splitting and replay protection where required. Your BTC is not converted into ECX.
How Do I Import a Bitcoin Wallet for ECX?
To import a Bitcoin wallet for ECX, open ECXIUM, select Import Wallet, and enter a compatible Recovery Phrase or WIF private key. ECXIUM detects the corresponding ECX and automatically handles safe coin splitting and replay protection where required. Your BTC remains on the Bitcoin network.
What Does 'Import a Bitcoin Wallet for ECX' Mean?
ECX is a separate blockchain derived from Bitcoin's ledger. Because corresponding ECX is associated with Bitcoin addresses under the ECX launch model, a user who controls the relevant Bitcoin wallet keys can use those keys to access the corresponding ECX.
Importing a Bitcoin wallet into ECXIUM means using the wallet's compatible Recovery Phrase or WIF private key so ECXIUM can derive or load the corresponding ECX wallet information.
This does not move BTC into ECXIUM, convert BTC into ECX or exchange one asset for another.
Key Point. Bitcoin remains Bitcoin. ECX is a separate asset. The import gives ECXIUM the key material needed to access the corresponding ECX side of the wallet.
Before You Import
Prepare only wallet credentials you control and verify the site before entering them.
- You should control the Bitcoin wallet and its Recovery Phrase or WIF private key.
- Confirm that you are using the official ECXIUM wallet URL: wallet.ecxium.org.
- Never send a Recovery Phrase or private key to an eligibility checker, support agent or website form.
- If you only want to check a public Bitcoin address first, use the public-address eligibility checker.
- Understand the active ECX network: Alpha and Beta use practice ECX; Mainnet establishes permanent ECX.
Check the Bitcoin Address First
A public-address check can be performed before importing wallet secrets. Never enter a Recovery Phrase or private key into a public-address checker. The eligibility checker is an external service and is not operated by ECXIUM.
Supported Bitcoin Wallet Import Methods
| Method | Use case | ECXIUM behavior |
|---|---|---|
| Recovery Phrase | Compatible mnemonic-backed Bitcoin wallet. | Can derive corresponding wallet addresses according to the supported wallet implementation. |
| WIF Private Key | One specific Bitcoin private key/address. | Single-key/address import; does not become a multi-address phrase wallet. |

ECXIUM Import Flow
For eligible Bitcoin imports, ECXIUM handles the ECX-side safe split and replay-protection workflow as part of the import experience.
What Happens to My Bitcoin?
Your BTC remains on the Bitcoin blockchain. Importing a Bitcoin wallet for ECX does not burn, exchange or convert BTC.
Because Bitcoin and ECX can share pre-fork transaction history, moving coins without appropriate replay handling can create risk.
ECXIUM is designed to handle safe coin separation and replay protection automatically for eligible imports where required.
Technical Guide. Learn why safe BTC and ECX separation matters after a fork.
Read the split and replay guideDo I Need to Claim or Split ECX Manually?
No separate manual claim form or manual split button is required in the ECXIUM workflow.
The ECX launch model does not require a registration or pre-claim form for Bitcoin holders. If you control the relevant keys, corresponding ECX can be accessed using compatible wallet software.
In ECXIUM, importing the eligible Bitcoin wallet is the user action. ECXIUM handles the wallet-side safe split and replay-protection steps where required.
Important. No manual split does not mean coin separation is unnecessary. It means ECXIUM performs that process automatically.
Learn about ECX replay protectionAlpha, Beta and Mainnet
Current network: ECX Beta Testnet. Alpha launched on 23 Aug 2026 as the first practice stage. Beta launched at Bitcoin block 967,680 and uses practice ECX. Mainnet is the next stage, targeted for 31 Oct 2026 around block ~973,728, and establishes permanent ECX.
| Network | Approx. BTC block | ECX type |
|---|---|---|
| ECX Alpha Testnet | ~963,648 | Practice ECX |
| ECX Beta Testnet | 967,680 | Practice ECX |
| ECX Mainnet | ~973,728 | Permanent ECX |
Recovery Phrase vs WIF
Use a Recovery Phrase when the Bitcoin wallet has a compatible mnemonic backup and the supported import flow can derive the relevant addresses.
Use a WIF private key for one specific Bitcoin private key/address. A WIF import remains a single-key import in ECXIUM.
Do not assume universal compatibility with every Bitcoin wallet, derivation path or hardware wallet unless tested and documented.
Import methods:
- Recovery Phrase: compatible mnemonic-backed wallet.
- WIF Private Key: one specific Bitcoin private key/address.
What If My Bitcoin Is on an Exchange?
If BTC is held on an exchange or another custodial platform, you may not control the corresponding private keys.
Access to ECX can therefore depend on whether the custodian supports the ECX distribution and provides the corresponding coins.
Never import exchange account credentials or passwords into ECXIUM.
Custody Reminder. ECXIUM imports wallet key material, not exchange logins.
